Catch-up post #4 - my brown-eyed girl is 15 months old

She's actually 15 1/2 months old, but this is a catch-up post ;) I know that many readers out there are interested in how Noli is doing, so I'd like to share the latest findings from her 15 month wellness exam.

  • weight - 16lbs 10oz
  • height - 29 inches
  • head circumference - 46.5 cm

She is still following her own curve nicely. However, if we adjust her age to 12 months, she is close to the 50th percentile for height and close to 3rd percentile for weight. Her pediatrician is not too worried at all since she is proportionate. Nola is still a little squirt, but watch out, she is full of feistiness and determination. I was also enlightened to learn that my daughter may in fact be taller than her mama. Lucky girl!!

In other news, she is walking up a storm. She loves to practice her Frankenstein moves (new nickname 'Frankie') every day and she is becoming more and more comfortable, fast, and independent. Today we went for a walk and she walked with her arms to her side and had such nice balance and wanted to keep going and going and going. She kept looking up at me with a smile...it was just too cute.

The only area I seem to have a small concern around is her speech. She understands us quite well, but she doesn't really talk much yet. I brought this up with the Dr. and again, if we consider her adjusted age of 12 months, she is not too worried. We will revisit the topic during Noli's 18 month wellness exam and see where we are at that point in time. I have no issue having her assessed by Early Intervention, if necessary.

Her bottom teeth are still working their way through, and she's got two top teeth joining in the fun.

And now for some shots of Noli during month 15...

She is just as beautiful as ever. It's good to hear the positive remarks and results from the doc visit. She is likely going to be one of those tall, slim beautiful girls -- and there is just nothing wrong with that. We are so blessed, aren't we, to have the chance to be mothers to Kyrgyz girls!!

That is just too much cuteness to take in! AP followed her own curve too, for quite a while, then all of a sudden at the last visit she was smack dab in the middle of the normal curve. It's like she caught up overnight!

I'm melting from the cuteness! Geez...I keep seeing all these adorable pics of the little Kyrgyzstani girls. It makes me even more eager to know who my daughter is! If she's even half as beautiful as Noli is, she'll be georgeous!

Big love!

Hi! I just found your blog when I did a search for Kyrgystan adoption. I am a single woman and I adopted from Guatemala in 2007. I would love to adopt again and was so excited to learn about the Kyrgystan program and that it allows single women to adopt. I would like to chat with you via email regarding your experience, especially regarding which agency you used and how satisfied you were with its service. Please contact me via email at dmbuhrmester at purdue dot edu (I am spelling out my email address so that spammers don't pick it up, please use the appropriate @ and . signs in place of the words). Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. --Denise in Indiana P.S. Your daughter is adorable!

She may be on the shorter side for now, but she has gorgeous legs :) In the picture where she is in the crib she looks like such a big girl! Sounds like she is thriving! So glad to see those new pictures and love the new song!
