Nola turned 2 on May 25th and it's taken me this long to publish the news. The top picture is birthday number 1, and the one just below is birthday number 2. I was so thrilled that she finally fit into her Chinese dress, compliments of a very dear friend. All along I planned that she would wear this dress on her 2nd birthday.
May was a busy month. Not only did I get to celebrate my 2nd Mother's Day, but I also (reluctantly) became a year older (big sob). In other exciting news, I've gone back to school. I enrolled in a weekend certification program at FAU. The class is held every Saturday (all day), and come mid-August I'll be one smarter cookie ;) The class will provide me with an executive certification in project management and get me one step closer to sitting for the PMP exam. I'm not sure I'll go for that right away, but will see how the next couple of months play out.Nola and I are spending some extra special time together these days. We're attending a Mommy and Me class twice a week and this has been wonderful for my shy girl. We haven't had much opportunity to mix and mingle with other little ones and their mommies to date. We also hit story time at my town's local library once a week, too.
The little squirt recently had her 2 year wellness exam and checked in at 19.9 lbs. She's not on the charts for weight, but for height she's at about the 3rd percentile, measuring 32.5 inches tall. Aside from a slight language delay, she is doing fabulously well. We started weekly speech therapy about 2 months ago and that, along with our participation in mommy and me, should help in the language area.
Enough babbling. Onto pictures...

Those are wonderful pictures! She is absolutely beautiful! I love the cake - FANCY! Did you bake it yourself? Congrats on the return to school - good for you! I hope you are getting to enjoy it!
Kimbery, I thought about baking a cake...maybe next year. I wanted something small - this cake is considered a wedding cake and I thought it was lovely. I ordered it from a local bakery - inside was chocolate and white and it had whip cream as the frosting with chocolate atop. Yummm!
Happy Birthday Nola!
What a beautiful dress and a pretty little girl :-)
Nola is just getting cuter by the day. I'm glad you guys are having a fun filled summer!! Congrats on your back to school activities.
Yumm! that sounds fabulous! I don't know why you didn't have time to bake it yourself?? :-) Ha!
Most excellent pictures! Quite a contrast between 1 and 2, too...

Wow! Happy Birthday Noli! I am so glad to hear you are both doing well. I love her dress. she is such a beautiful girl! Oh and the cake looks yummy!
Great photos Jackie. Happy birthday Noli.
She is such a lovely little squirt. I love the intimate celebrations with just your very loved ones.
It is just astounding how beautiful Nola is -- just incredible... Honestly, I am floored by the speed of time... I distinctly remember your call to me, that Brent called and said you would get a referral any day then, and you were about to have a Garage sale.... Seems like yesterday. And poof. gorgeous little girl with wonderful mommy and very happy life... Gotta love it!! PS: I liked #1. Yea, not to be a rebel, but the full set of bangs would drive me crazy b/c I am not used to hair hanging on my eyebrows like that!! :) You are a beautiful person, so I am sure any of them will be great.. Check out PANTENE as well vs. Locks of Love -- take 8 inches, not 10, so you have a little more flexibility, esp if your hair is not the same length all the way around!!! i've donated 3x in the last 7 years - every 2 years whether i need it or not. LOL. had a very dear friend pass away of cancer 9 years ago, and that is how it all started. let me tell you, it feels incredible to get it all hacked off. but the first shampooing in your own shower feels almost like you are missing an appendage to wash. ha ha ha!! :)
looking forward to the outcome! :)
Beautiful... all of it! such HAPPY pictures! Thx for sharing your precious daughter with us.
:)
How did I miss her birthday?! Sorry Noli!! Happy birthday :) She looks so pretty in her chinese dress. Little Miss Phoebe was here two weeks ago and boy did she remind me of Nola. Thanks for posting all the pictures I just love to see how she's growing.
Nola is just beautiful! The pictures are precious!
I am finally catching up on my blog reading!! (and posting) Happy 2nd Birthday Noli. Wow has she changed since her 1st birthday! She is gorgeous!
That's exciting about the mommy and me class too. I did several with Landon and it really brought him out of his shell. It took almost a month for him to let go of my leg and now i just bought the stranger safety dvd b/c he won't stop talking to randon people!! =)
I just decided to go back to college too. I want to be prepared when i re-enter the work world!!
Hugs!
Tamara
