First ER Visit

It happened! Noli gave us a scare this week on Wednesday. She had a low grade fever during the day, and at 6pm it had spiked to 104.6F. I immediately gave her Tylenol and it didn't take long for me to get into my car and head to the ER. I signed in at 6:35 and by 7:15 she was dosed with Motrin to help bring the fever down.

Naturally she was poked and prodded and then it was time to draw blood and urine. My poor girl...she has never had it easy in the blood draw department and this night was no different. Little Squirt was crying anytime someone new came into the room. Between the crying and the fever, she was drenched in sweat. Eventually she calmed down enough to sleep for a bit before round 2 of blood draw efforts resumed. Boy, I do not like to see my baby going through this!!

Much of her lab work came back just fine with basically no real clue as to what might have been going on with her. We are still awaiting blood and urine cultures to be further enlightened. She's doing much better today and I am hopeful that, by tomorrow, the Nola I know will be back in full force. Here are some shots & video from the occasion.

What an ordeal, Jackie! Sounds like you had a bit of a scare. Good thing your mom was with you and that you had the good sense to seek medical help.

I'm praying that Nola will be back to her healthy normal little self in no time.

Big love,

Pamela

Oh Precious Baby! I'm so sorry she's sick. Hang in there Mommy I know how hard it is to see your angel sick, scared, and hurting. Anara, is with me requesting I play Noli's video again ;) She sends her love too. We'll keep you in our prayers. Please keep us posted.

'Tis a rite of passage, but is still very scary! It's good that Noli is fine...and that she enjoyed her first Popsicle!

Aw, poor little girl! My son had a mysterious high fever at about 16 mos. old, too. The tests were all negative, and we attributed it to a virus. Hope she is feeling great soon!

Poor sweet girl! I know how scary that can be; Monkey had several similar episodes when he was younger, accompanied by febrile seizures - he just tends to run really high fevers when he gets a virus. It is so hard to watch your little one so sick and not be able to fix it. I hope she is feeling better by now.
